Pupil Premium
What is the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG)?
The pupil premium grant is additional government funding given to publicly funded schools in England. The grant has been in place since 2011. Its purpose is:-
- To raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities to reach their potential.
- To support children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces.
How must the grant be spent?
The grant does not have to be spent completely in the financial year. Some or the entire grant can be carried forward to future financial years.
It must be spent:-
- For the educational benefits of the disadvantaged pupils registered at the school.
- On community facilities/services whose provision benefits pupils registered at the school or their families, or people who live or work in the locality in which the school is situated.
